Save Dubs

Please email your MP and convince them to save the Dubs scheme on Tuesday.

Back in February 2017 in a joint letter to the Home Secretary, the leaders of five Churches expressed their concern at the Government's intention to suspend the programme for the safe re-settlement of unaccompanied minors seeking refuge in the United Kingdom. This is commonly known as the 'Dubs' scheme after Sir Alf Dubs.

In a non-binding largely symbolic vote on Wednesday 1 March MPs voted in favour of keeping the scheme open. Whilst a good test of how Parliament feels more needs doing.

This Tuesday 7 March a cross party group of MPs are taking a new amendment to Parliament and if successful it will force Government to re-consult Local Authorities and identify further capacity to help children through the Dubs scheme.

Lord Alf Dubs says "This is our chance to put Britain back on the right side of history..."

We need to make sure that all the MPs who have spoken up — in debates, on social media, in speeches and at the ballot today — come together and vote to save the Dubs scheme on Tuesday.

Please email your MP and convince them to save the Dubs scheme on Tuesday.

Blue sky and a little wind, perfect walking weather. Just over 20 people left Keld URC chapel for what is now a traditional Good Friday walk of reflection up some hills and down Swaledale to St Andrew's church at Grinton. We stopped for lunch at Gunnerside Methodist chapel which was one of 14 stops where we reflected on what the cross meant for us. People young and old took part, sharing the...
