Barden is a small community two miles from the main road and approx five miles from Richmond. It has no shop, post office or public house! But has had a cosy little chapel since 1877 which has always been well used.
All preachers find a lively fellowship at Barden with a membership of ten. Not bad for a population of 49.
It is said that the land on which the chapel was built was given by an Anglican farmer, who was not on very friendly terms with a fellow Anglican neighbour.
