I am a Circuit Steward. Originally from Blackhill in North West Durham, I grew up in the Methodist Church where I was encouraged and supported by wonderful folk. Following my training as a teacher at Ripon College, and after discovering the wonders of North Yorkshire, I stayed and taught in secondary and primary schools for over 40 years. Although retired from full-time work, I continue to teach part-time with the Open University. I am married to Sue and we have two grown up children. In my spare time I enjoy being part of a local folk group, along with some gentle cycling and dinghy sailing. It is a privilege to be a Circuit Steward and work with the Circuit Leadership Team in this beautiful rural circuit, with its strong roots in the past and its many challenges for the future.
