CIRCUIT GIFT DAY - SUNDAY 4TH SEPTEMBER 2011

The Circuit is holding a series of Circuit Services on Sunday 4th September 2011 at Hawes, Reeth, Middleham and Richmond to celebrate the completion of our first year as the North Yorkshire Dales Circuit.  These services will be combined with a Circuit Gift Day

The Methodist family works as a Connexion whereby the giving of each individual, through the Circuit, supports the whole administration of the Methodist Movement via the Circuit Assessment to the District. However, the majority of the money received by the Circuit from the individual Church Assessments benefits the individual churches as it provides the Ministers, their homes and the expenses allowing them to travel around our large Circuit.  To help keep the church assessments at an affordable level a small part of the Circuit budgeted income is attributed to individual giving and so your gift gives you an opportunity to help the Circuit directly.

In the past the old Wensleydale Circuit has held a Circuit Service and Gift Day in July but it was decided this year to switch to September for the new Circuit Anniversary.

 NORMA CONDER 1934-2011

Norma Conder of Harmby Manor Farm Wensleydale went to greater service with the Lord on the 1st January 2011 at the age of 76, and was interred at Hauxwell Church where she had often preached as part of her discipleship with the former Wensleydale Methodist Circuit. She completed her 50th Year as a Local Preacher before she had to give up preaching because her Parkinson's illness had become too severe.
Now, with her headstone inscription designed by her son James, who is also a Methodist Local Preacher, and her husband John,
who selected a local stone from Leyburn Quarry, her life with the Lord and All whom she met has been accurately remembered in the peace and beauty of Hauxwell. The grave surface has been planted with flowers she loved from Harmby Manor Farm garden and from Harkerside Fell, in Swaledale, where she was refreshed most Thursdays.
Let us praise the Lord with this loyal and loving disciple - Amen
